Ben & Jerry’s Go Together Like Banana And Peanut Butter

Ben & Jerry’s Banana Peanut Butter Greek Frozen Yogurt Review

You know those mini ice cream cups, that you can barely fit your sterling silver spoon into?  I rarely buy them, as I think the ice cream is made differently for them. For instance, you can’t fit big hunks of cookies or whatever in them, and little mini chips are no good. But when Von’s had some Ben & Jerry’s Frozen Yogurts on sale for $1 each, I bought some to try out.

A pint is 16 oz, and these mini-mes are only 3.6 oz, so 4.4 times $1 is $4.40 per pint, and I rarely spend over $4 for a pint. However, I’ve never bought Ben & Jerry’s frozen yogurt before, so I did get to try it now. It’s pretty good! The sweet peanut butter taste (not too thick, not too peanutty) was perfect with the tart banana flavor.  I would like to try this again. (I tried to look up the fat and calories, but it doesn’t compare to the bigger pints. Suspicious, as I said.)

Ben & Jerry’s, do you have an obsession with how big you are?

Because Ben & Jerry’s has big warnings now on some pints: “still 16 oz.”  In lower case. On other flavors, it says “Still a pint!”, in case you’re not mathematically inclined.

I like quarts or half gallons ice cream, but not for gourmet ice cream – they go icy too fast. And f you go smaller, — like these min-cups or worse — no promises from me, Ben & Jerry’s. Just sayin’.

What others say about Ben & Jerry’s Banana Peanut Butter Greek Frozen Yogurt

The Impulsive Buy didn’t like it as well. He writes so favorably about Ben & Jerry’s Blueberry Vanilla Graham Greek Frozen Yogurt, that I might have to try that one, too, but the fact that it doesn’t have enough graham cracker is a little warning. Junk Food Guy might be my doppelganger, same feelings as me. A Sweet Score seems conflicted. To me, that’s a sign that you should try it again.

So in general, I’m not buying any more mini ice cream cartons. But I do think the fact that I liked this sample, and will probably buy more,  is proof that all stores should give away samples. 🙂 And even though I complain about our local Silver Lake Trader Joe’s all the time (and it deserves it) they did lengthen their hours for free samples until 10 PM, closing time,  as I requested. 🙂

Where to buy this frozen yoghurt in pints

Most grocery stores. Amazon is now selling ice cream! They have over 100 varieties of Ben & Jerry’s,  but only one flavor of frozen yoghurt that I found, Cherry Garcia. Instacart has it, though.

Final bite

Three stars. It’s only frozen yogurt, after all.
